Intelligence is great, but what about courage?
“Brilliant thinking is rare, but courage is in even shorter supply than genius”
Everyone’s seen the greater male variability hypothesis for general intelligence and similar traits,
— but also wonder what the curves would look like for what Thiel called “courage”
i.e. social conformity?
Imagining it might look similar,
- extreme conformists = so extreme that only those who are insincere and doing it as a serious job could be so extreme = male dominated?
- extreme non-conformists = again male dominated?
Do the social conformity vs gender curves follow a greater male variability hypothesis pattern too?

— Humans are not extremely sexually dimorphic, instead just partially, e.g. versus some animals which are far more sexually dimorphic
What does this mean for mate choice?
Same things it means for all things that are not heavily sexually dimorphic
= this signals that BOTH sexes better take on some of the duty, or else everything falls apart.
Signals that relying on just one side to do this role is far from optimal.
