Billionaires rarely support socialism the way the SSRI green hairs, third worldists, and downwardly mobile trust fund kids do.

They champion the socialist-adjacent state of big government, heavy regulation, and equity rhetoric, because it serves as a powerful tool for entrenching their dominance and keeping them firmly in control.

Complex regulations create protective moats that crush smaller competitors unable to afford armies of lobbyists and compliance teams, while crony bailouts, subsidies, and β€œtoo big to fail” protections deliver socialism for the rich at taxpayer expense.

They are happy to publicly support high taxes on β€œthe rich” for several strategic reasons:

(1) it signals virtue and buys public goodwill and political protection in an era of populist resentment

(2)the tax code’s complexity allows them to exploit loopholes, deductions, offshore structures, and charitable foundations they control, shielding most of their wealth while the burden falls hardest on aspiring entrepreneurs and productive middle-class earners who lack such resources

(3) higher marginal rates reduce the formation of new competitive capital, making it far more difficult for upstarts to challenge their market positions

Through political alliances, they secure favorable laws, tariffs, and contracts, all while preaching compassion to distract attention from themselves as the primary beneficiaries of centralized power.

As Rand illustrated in Atlas Shrugged, this isn’t a battle between capitalism and socialism, but between producers and looters who rig the system.

True free markets threaten their empires built on political favors. Crony socialism, by contrast, lets them retain the gains while socializing the costs.

What began inside a small Phoenix bungalow in 1931 would become one of America’s most infamous true crime cases.

Winnie Ruth Judd was a 26-year-old medical secretary living in Phoenix when tensions between her and two women she knewβ€”Agnes Anne LeRoi and Hedvig β€œSammy” Samuelsonβ€”spiraled into violence. What exactly happened inside the house remains heavily debated to this day. Judd later claimed self-defense. Others believed the killings were deliberate. The truth became buried beneath conflicting stories, fear, and sensational headlines.

But it was the aftermath that shocked the nation.

In a desperate attempt to escape what had happened, Judd placed the victims’ bodies into trunks and luggage before boarding a train bound for Los Angeles. For a brief moment, it may have seemed possible to outrun the crime itself.

Then the journey changed everything.

Passengers and railway workers reportedly noticed something disturbing coming from the baggage. Suspicion spread quickly. By the time authorities investigated, the horrifying discovery inside the trunks transformed the case into front-page news across America.

The media seized on every detail. Newspapers turned the story into national obsession, giving Judd the chilling nickname β€œThe Trunk Murderess.” Public fascination explodedβ€”not only because of the crime, but because of the strange, almost surreal imagery surrounding it: train compartments, locked trunks, and a woman trying to disappear before the truth caught up with her.

After her arrest, Judd’s statements shifted repeatedly. She was eventually convicted, declared insane, and confined to the Arizona State Hospital, where she later escaped multiple times, each incident deepening the mythology surrounding the case.

Decades later, after her release in 1971, she quietly lived under another identity in California until her death in 1998 at age 93.

Yet the story never fully faded from public memory.
