The average 3-month put-to-call skew of S&P 500 single stocks is down to 0.04, the 4th-lowest reading over the last 20 years.

This measures how much more investors are paying for downside protection via put options than for upside exposure through call options.

The lower the reading, the less investors are paying to protect themselves against a market decline.

The average 3-month put-to-call skew has fallen -75% since March, posting the sharpest drop since April-May 2025.

This metric is even lower than during the 2021 meme stock frenzy.

Investors are no longer thinking about downside risk.

NEW: Pimp murderer rips his vape and flips off the camera as he is being sentenced to life in prison in Mississippi.

Juan Cole was convicted of the murder of Carlos McGruder, which took place in November 2021 in a Holiday Inn parking lot.

Cole was allegedly acting as a pimp when one of the women working for him was allegedly assaulted and robbed.

Upon hearing of the incident, Cole ran into the parking lot to find McGruder, thinking he was the one who assaulted her.

Cole then fired 14 shots at McGruder, killing him, even though he was not the one who carried out the assault, according to investigators.

He fled and was on the run for years before being apprehended by the U.S. Marshals Service in Oklahoma in August 2025.

The jury reached a verdict to send Cole to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Between jurors reaching the verdict and the judge's sentencing, Cole was seen hitting what looks to be a marijuana vape and flipping off the media.

I suspect math will be like Chess and Go due to verifiability. The period of fruitful collaboration between humans and AI will be short (i.e. a few years or less, not a decade). Progress in math will be jagged, with harder to formalize fields coming last, but I suspect this jaggedness will be compressed in time -- I expect superhuman performance at (nearly?) all areas of math within a few years (a few = 2-3?).

AIs will also be better at asking pure math questions than humans, and will quickly develop theories beyond human comprehension.

Human theorists will have a recreational comparative advantage over other humans in understanding these theories, but AIs will be better at communicating these theories to applied researchers. Pure mathematicians will need to become applied researchers to do productive work, until applied research is also automated.

Confidence level for prediction: 50-65% for gist, 40-50% for all above claims being correct.
