The Strait of Hormuz is blockaded.
Europe's plan?
Ursula von der Leyen: "The cheapest energy is the one you don't use." Stay home, don't drive, don't use electricity.
The EU has no plan and no military to change do anything. So they are stuck with "monitoring the situation"

This photo op doesnβt land right now. Everyoneβs broke, doordashing, onlyfansing, prediction market gambling, to make ends meet and Trump handing out a $100 tip to an older lady who still has to work is bad optics. Like βHere buy yourself a tank of gas. Good luck. Enjoy the war.β

Credit cards redistribute to higher-income households through interchange fees: the fees merchants pay to credit card companies on purchases made by their cards
This happens because merchants increase prices to offset fees and richer people disproportionately use credit cards

The Irish government has budged under pressure from the protesting farmers and announced yesterday that it will reduce excise duties by 10c per litre on diesel and petrol.
There will also be a delay in planned carbon tax hikes.
Irish farmers, truck drivers, agricultural contractors, taxi and bus operators launched nationwide fuel protests on April 7th, blocking fuel depots, ports and Irelandβs only oil refinery with their tractors and other vehicles.
The core issue is soaring diesel and petrol prices, which have jumped sharply due to the crisis in the Hormuz Strait.
Protesters argue these costs, combined with Irelandβs carbon tax on fuels including βgreen dieselβ used in agriculture, make operations unsustainable.
Farmers highlight that running tractors, machinery, and transport for fertiliser, crops, and livestock has become prohibitively expensive due to the climate taxes.
βNo farmers, no foodβ is one of the main slogans used by the protesters.
