If the Iranians are willing to negotiate in good faith and extend an open hand, that’s one thing.

On April 9, a Tulare County Sheriff's deputy (a detective) was killed in an ambush shooting in Porterville, California, while serving an eviction notice near Newcomb Street and Grand Avenue at 10:20 a.m.
The deputy (35-year-old Randy Hoppert) was struck during the shooting, rushed from the scene, and later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The suspect, 59-year-old David Morales, barricaded himself inside a residence with a high-powered rifle after 35 days of unpaid rent. Morales was found prone and firing at armored vehicles. The officers made the decision to run over the suspect, killing him.

Morales had no prior criminal record, and his motive remains unclear.
