Debate over why cozier climates have such underdeveloped societies is raging again.

Consider a tale of two societies, more analogous than they may seem.
ANCIENT TRIBES
1. humans find themselves in a cozy climate with little threat from nature, easily conquer nature, so much that even the weakest can now dominate the top natural external predators, armed with their weapons and moats, nature is no match, at the group level. Little to no selective pressure from nature at the individual level
2. lacking any serious external threat, the best way to prosper switches from fighting nature to fighting each other, selective pressure shifts to a zero-sum game of whoever’s most willing to kill each other for no good reason at all
3. killing others becomes strongly selected for
4. iq, skills or inclinations for anything not applicable to quickly destroying fellow man, plummets

BIG TECH OR BIG GOVT
1. a big tech firm obtains a strong monopoly on their cash cow, so much so that now even the dumbest can keep it running well enough, armed with their monopolizing weapons and moats, startups and other up-comers have no chance, at the group level. Little to no selective pressure from nature at the individual level.
2. lacking any serious external threat, the best way to prosper switches from fighting nature to instead fighting each other, selective pressure shifts to a zero-sum game of whoever’s most willing to get others fired for no good reason at all
3. getting others fired through passive aggressive office politics becomes strongly selected for
4. iq, skills or inclinations for anything not applicable to quickly destroying fellow man, plummets
= Direct analogs.
One involving the more masculine direct competition of literally killing each other.
Other of involving the more feminine approach of avoiding direct competition with the target and instead weaponizing third parties against them.
Both the unfortunate consequence of having it too good. No individual level selective pressure from nature, the group is practically invincible to natural external enemies, so suddenly the strongest selective pressure turns inward, destroy each other or be destroyed.
Both see a collapse in iq and skills and inclinations - for anything other than what’s applicable to quickly destroying fellow man.
In both cases, those who don’t want to go down this path tend to self-filter themselves out, escaping to better-incentivized environments.
The selection pressures on big tech, big government, and all big monopolies — are directly analogous — to those of the most murderous, retarded tribes.
