To ease high oil peices, the U.S. gave a 30-day sanctions waiver on ~140M barrels of Iranian oil already loaded on tankers at sea,
Iran's response?

Andrej Karpathy on autoresearch with an untrusted pool of workers:
"My designs that incorporate an untrusted pool of workers (into autoresearch) actually look a little bit like a blockchain.
Instead of blocks, you have commits, and these commits can build on each other and contain changes to the code as you're improving it.
The proof of work is basically doing tons of experimentation to find the commits that work."
The idea that distributed & permissionless autoresearch ~= proof-of-useful-work remains a high-level intuition for now, but it is extremely intriguing to say the least.
Someone needs to take this further. See QT for more on what's missing.

Everyoneβs watching oil, but thatβs just the surface of a much bigger global problem
For almost 3 weeks, Hormuz being shut has trapped nearly 20% of global oil. But itβs also blocking the raw stuff behind everyday life.
Aluminum, chemicals, fuel inputs, even helium⦠all stuck.
Now factories are slowing down. Asiaβs refineries are struggling, China and India already cutting output. Diesel and jet fuel prices are jumping fast.
Plastic makers canβt get materials, so some are just stopping production.
Then it hits tech. A major Qatar plant shutting means about 40% of global helium gone. That messes with chip-making, so phones, electronics⦠all get affected.
And the real pressure point? Food.
So yeah, this isnβt just an oil story anymore.
Itβs slowly turning into a supply shock across everythingβ¦ energy, tech, food.
One narrow waterway, and the whole system starts shaking.

A single person once minted over 184 BILLION Bitcoins
In 2010 someone exploited a bug in Bitcoin's code and generated 184,467,440,737 BTC in a single transaction on a blockchain that was only supposed to have 21 million total supply
Satoshi and the developers caught it within 5 hours and pushed Bitcoin's first ever emergency fork to erase the transaction

Economists also found thriftiness was correlated to winter length, and once again East Asians (SG, HK, KR, TW) were outliers, being much more thrifty than the average of their regions winter lengths
