The UN has recognized Russia’s deportation of Ukrainian children as a crime against humanity

An international UN commission’s report states that Russian authorities deliberately and systematically conceal information about the children’s whereabouts, place them in orphanages, send them to foster families, and, in some cases, allow them to be adopted by Russian families despite the presence of relatives in Ukraine.

According to the commission, this amounts to a crime against humanity, the enforced disappearance of children.
