As oil prices surge to levels not seen since 2022, the meeting of G7 finance ministers has reportedly agreed to, for now, not release their respective countries’ oil reserves today, per a G7 official, with ministers reportedly choosing to defer said decision to their respective leaders. According to Reuters, citing two sources close to the matter, Saudi oil giant Aramco has reduced output at two of its oil fields, amidst ongoing Iranian drone and ballistic missile strikes on oil and gas infrastructure in Saudi Arabia and the wider Gulf region.
