In April 2021, FTX bought an 8% stake in Anthropic for $500 million.

FTX was already funneling the customer's money to its sister firm, Alameda Research.

Given that FTX founder SBF worked at Jane Street for 3 years, Jane Street might have known about this thing.

In May 2022, Luna and UST collapsed, and Jane Street was behind that.

This collapse led to a massive $12 billion loss for Alameda Research, which caused the FTX collapse.

1.5 years later, FTX sold its Anthropic stake at $18 billion valuation.

And guess who was the 2nd largest buyer of this?

Jane Street.

Jane Street bought $100M in Anthropic shares at $18B valuation, which is worth $2.1 billion now, a 21x return in just 2 years.

Not only that, Jane Street's head of quantitative research, Craig Falls, also proposed to personally buy around $20 million worth of shares.

I'm not sure whether he got them or not, but if he did, they're worth over $400 million today.

So, Jane Street literally brought the entire crypto market down and made billions in profits.
