Slovakia's and Hungary's supply amounts to a total of 60% of electricity imports to Ukraine.

Urban birds show chronically higher stress levels than their rural counterparts. In noisy settings, many species must sing louder, shift to higher pitches, or sing at different times—costly adjustments that divert energy from feeding, predator avoidance, and chick provisioning. Masked signals also lead to more frequent failed breeding attempts and lower fledging rates across diverse taxa.

Noise pollution is unique among environmental stressors: unlike habitat loss or climate change, it is relatively easy to mitigate.
