We need more power:

Global data center power demand is now expected to rise to a record 1,596 terawatt-hours by 2035.

That would mark a +255% increase from 2025 levels.

The US is set to remain the leader in consumption with a +144% surge in demand over this period, to 430 terawatt-hours.

China's demand is projected to rise +255%, to 397 terawatt-hours, while European demand is expected to surge +303%, to 274 terawatt-hours.

New data centers coming online between now and 2030 will need more than 600 terawatt-hours of electricity.

This is enough to power ~60 million homes.

AI growth will be contingent on generating more power.

Market volatility is surging beneath the surface:

The spread between average single-stock 2-week volatility and the Nasdaq 100's volatility is up to 20.7 points, the highest since 2020.

This measures how much individual stocks are moving compared to the index, meaning the wider the spread, the more extreme the moves under the surface.

This spread has doubled over the last month, now 3 times higher than 4-year average.

Furthermore, the 3-month implied volatility spread between single stocks and the Nasdaq 100 is up to 18.4 points, the highest in at least 5 years.

By comparison, during the April 2025 sell-off, expected volatility stood at 11.0 points.

This means the market is pricing in continued single-stock stress.

Despite the broad market looking calm, volatility is severe in many parts of this market.

JUST IN - Donald J. Trump says he opposes the proposed β€œGateway” project in New York/New Jersey, saying it will cost billions more than expected and become a financial disaster similar to California’s high-speed rail project.

He insists the federal government will not pay for any cost overruns and says steps must be taken now to prevent them. He also denies reports that he pushed to rename Penn Station to β€œTrump Station,” calling that claim fake news.

NEW: British man has a meltdown at the Hong Kong airport and starts smashing check-in kiosks, gets arrested for having four Viagra pills.

The man was identified as a 35-year-old British tourist.

Because he didn't have a prescription for Viagra, the man is facing up to two years in jail and a $12,800 fine.

"Airport Authority staff and airport security personnel rushed to the scene and warned the man to stop causing further damage," a spokesperson said.

"Police have arrested the man and launched an investigation."

It's unclear what exactly set the man off.

Something I find fascinating is that the descendants of people who left the U.S. for other countries tend to be lower performing than Americans in general.

Who leaves America, anyway?

I attend a prestigious private school in New York City (tuition over $71,000) and it is the exact same thing (assisting illegals with paperwork). It’s all one big cesspool of anti-American, anti-Western bile

The professor teaching this course is the founding director of the "Immigrant Justice Lab" that produces "public scholarship to support immigration & asylum law."

University of Michigan & Harvard participate, how many more? How much funding do they get?
