Yesterday, DHS law enforcement was conducting a targeted operation in Minneapolis against an illegal alien wanted for violent assault.
During the operation, an individual approached U.S. Border Patrol officers with a 9mm semi-automatic handgun. The officers attempted to disarm the suspect but the armed suspect violently resisted. Fearing for his life and the lives and safety of fellow officers, an agent fired defensive shots.
This violence is directly fueled by dangerous rhetoric and conduct from Minnesota's sanctuary politicians. It must end now.

NEW: Trapped cruise ship rescued from thick ice near Antarctica by the United States Coast Guard.
The Scenic Eclipse II, which can hold 228 passengers and 176 crew members, was traveling through the Ross Sea when it got stuck.
The USCGC Polar Star was seen breaking the ice to create a path for the cruise ship to pass through.
"The Australian-owned cruise ship Scenic Eclipse II contacted Polar Star at approximately 11 p.m., local time Friday after becoming beset in pack ice roughly eight nautical miles from McMurdo Sound," the U.S. Coast Guard said in a statement.
"Polar Star’s crew conducted two close passes to break the vessel free, then escorted it approximately four nautical miles to open water."
