Global central banks bought +45 tonnes of gold in November, the 2nd-strongest month in 2025.

In the first 11 months of the year, central banks acquired 297 tonnes of gold.

The National Bank of Poland led buying for the 2nd-consecutive month, adding +12 tonnes, pushing reserves to a record 543 tonnes, or ~28% of total FX reserves.

BREAKING: Federal prosecutors have reportedly launched a criminal investigation into Fed Chair Jerome Powell.

The investigation is reportedly focused on renovations of the Federal Reserve’s headquarters.

The investigation focuses on “the central bank’s renovation of its Washington headquarters and whether Mr. Powell lied to Congress about the scope of the project, according to officials briefed on the situation,” the New York Times reported.

“The president has threatened to fire the Fed chair … and raised the prospect of a lawsuit against him related to the $2.5 billion renovation, citing “incompetence.””

Back in July, Trump and Powell started arguing in front of the cameras over the cost of the project.
