Ukrainian suicide drones have struck two Russian cargo vessels in the Caspian Sea while they were transporting weapons from Iran to Russia.

Kompozitor Rakhmaninov and Askar-Sarydzha (or Askar-Saridzha) were transporting Iranian components for drones and ballistic missiles when they were hit.

Both vessels have been under U.S. sanctions since last year for their role in Russia-Iran military logistics in the Caspian Sea.

Ukrainian drones also struck two Russian oil rig platforms in the Caspian Sea, proving that the Ukrainian long-range drones can now reach the Caspian Sea with ease, turning the body of water into a new battlefield of the Russo-Ukrainian war.
