For the first time in several years, Microsoft has removed all traces of “Diversity & Inclusion” from their twice-yearly employee review process.
These employee reviews, held every 6 months, have (until now) made D&I (Diversity & Inclusion) a required part of evaluating employee performance. And, hence, a key part of how promotions, bonuses, and raises were applied.
The screenshot below is from the previous review (May of 2025). Note that Microsoft considered D&I to be a “Core Priority” with a number of “focus areas” for employees. Including:
- Engaging in “group discussions around Diversity & Inclusion”.
- Participating in Employee Resource Groups (such as Trans support groups).
- Completing D&I education courses.
In the current employee review (November, 2025), the D&I section has been removed entirely.
According to one Microsoft employee, who spoke to The Lunduke Journal, while the specific D&I language may have changed from year to year, this is the first time (in many years) that it has not been included at all.
“Diversity & Inclusion is just gone and not mentioned. Like it never existed,” said the Microsoft employee.
