TLDR: Safety vs. Flexibility tradeoff
Solana has zero flexibility, always lagging behind in innovation, but easier to make safe — all tokens essentially using one signle token contract, with a few configuration parameters. Just need to audit 1 token contract for the whole ecosystem.
EVM chains are quite flexible, always ahead of Solana in innovation, but much harder to make sure they’re all safe.
At the same time, it’s not that EVM chains couldn’t be made safe — they REALLY don’t even try.
Both possible? Totally, but would need big money.
How to get that big money? Nearly impossible.
Only chance crypto has is if some individual who loves safety proof mechanisms suddenly became rich, and financed achieving this goal and pushing it on the world himself.

Will say though that no, it’s not purely memes forever from here out.
