Married people tend to be at lower risk of dying compared to the unmarried.
Another thing is that men seem to benefit more from partnership than women do.
The difference in the benefit between men and women is driven by confounding and much of the total effect is too:

Russian oil:
After the war, Germany should once again purchase oil and gas from the Russian Federation, believes the Prime Minister of Saxony.
"Sanctions against Russia should be considered with our own economic interests in mind. Our interest should be in resuming the supply of energy resources from Russia after a ceasefire. Economic relations also strengthen our security," stated Michael Kretschmer.
According to Kretschmer, Europe needs cheap energy and therefore, in the long term, Russia should "once again become a trading partnerβbut in a way that we do not fall into dependency again." He called the slogan "No more Russia" a mistake.
Kretschmer emphasized that Germany is supplying weapons to Kyiv and that the war should be ended as quickly as possible, but he expressed the conviction that Berlin cannot influence decision-making: "Europe is no longer a player. We have given up our competitive advantageβenergy at favorable prices."
Earlier, Kretschmer had stated that the sanctions regime against Moscow is "completely outdated."
