In a healthy market economy they would have to pay market prices for labor in a closed pool of American talent. But with H1B visas they are able to lobby the government to increase the supply of labor.
When you increase the supply of labor you lower the market price for that labor. So H1Bs are effectively a handout to big corporations who dominate H1B visa petitions.
Americans get poorer, anti-American third world immigrants are brought into the country and make it worse and all so that tech CEOs can line their pockets.
