Alternative data shows extreme labor market weakness:
LinkUp estimates show the US economy lost -5,000 jobs in October, the 2nd negative monthly reading since January 2021.
LinkUp uses a dataset of real-time job postings, sourced directly from company websites across the country.
This comes as new and total job listings declined -4% and -2% MoM, respectively.
This also marks a significant drop from the September forecast of +80,000 jobs added.
