Electric vehicles get charged 95% from COAL

Burning coal is more carbon-intensive than burning gasoline. Coal produces more greenhouse gases than any other fossil fuel. In 2021, coal combustion produced 14.98 billion metric tons of carbon dioxide worldwide. In comparison, gasoline has a high carbon footprint. One gallon of gasoline emits 19.59 pounds of CO2 when combusted. Driving one mile on average emits 404 grams of CO2.
Coal's higher proportion of carbon molecules creates more CO2 per unit of energy. In contrast, oil and gas produce climate-warming CO2, but it's mainly the hydrogens that burn and generate energy.
