🇪🇸🇪🇸A new Iberian aDNA paper has a couple of samples from the archaeological site Emerita Augusta which was associated with Suebi nobility. It had previously been believed that Germanic invaders in Iberia would already have had most of their ancestry diluted. However, these samples are modelled as almost 100% CNE. They're using 8 of the most northern shifted Langobard samples for their CNE proxy, these samples range from Icelandic-like to Danish-like.
Judging by these samples it seems that Germanics in Iberia still had a lot of Germanic autosomal ancestry, at least among the elites. The paper notes that these people didn't contribute much to later Iberians which makes sense looking at the massive population size of Roman-age Iberia and the small number of Germanic invaders.
