Irish people in England have higher rates of alcohol-related deaths and hospitalizations than the English.

The difference seems to be how they drink: Irish men tend to drink heavily when they do drink, more so than English men.
This heavy drinking pattern among Irish men, rather than the total amount of alcohol consumed, might explain the higher rates of alcohol-related problems.
A more recent analysis also showed that Irish people in England have very high alcohol consumption rates.
