On 26 July 811, a massive Byzantine army was destroyed on the plains between the Danube and the Haemus Mountains. During the Battle of Pliska, the emperor Nicephorus I himself was killedโthe first to die in battle since Valens in 378โand his head was turned into a silver-lined drinking gourd by the victorious Bulgarian khan. It was one of the worst humiliations Byzantium ever suffered.
Back in the Byzantine camp, Nicephorus lay dead. Krumโs men decapitated the emperor and brought the head back to their khan. Krum stripped the skin from his skull, lined it with silver, and turned it into a drinking gourd, which he used to toast his great victory. The future would give him several more such occasions

The Volga-Oka interfluve in northwestern Russia has an intriguing history of population influx and language shift during the Common Era. Today, most inhabitants of the region speak Russian, but until medieval times, northwestern Russia was inhabited by Uralic-speaking peoples.1,2,3 A gradual shift to Slavic languages started in the second half of the first millennium with the expansion of Slavic tribes, which led to the foundation of the Kievan Rusโ state in the late 9th century C

Tatar Aristocracy Golden Horde artistic facial reconstruction
Comment by author Emese Gรกbor
I finished with a fantastic job. A reconstruction of a skull from the Tartar aristocracy of the Golden Horde. It was already apparent from the skull that it was not ordinary. It exceeded all expectations, as his face came to life line by line..and the end result... I won't even write anymore. Face him.

Halloween, or Samhain (pronounced SAH-win), originated in pagan Ireland with the Celts. It was originally a celebration of the harvest at the end of summer, when bonfires were lit to ward off (keep away) evil spirits. The ancient Celts believed that this was the time of the year when the veil between the lands of the living and the dead was at its thinnest.
@illyrianometer
1. This festival is exclusively Celtic.
2. In Norse religion, รlfablรณt is celebrated between the end of autumn and the beginning of winter.
3. The Slavs didn't celebrate Halloween historically, but they have their own version, called Dziady.
4. Following the rigidity of tribal paganism, it can be concluded that this festival only belongs to the Celts and has nothing to do with non-Celtics.
5. Syncretic pagans who often think it belongs to all pagan tribes equally are wrong.
6. Aryans didn't celebrate Halloween. Nothing is mentioned about it in Vedism or Zoroastrianism.
7. Christianity has nothing to do with the Samhain festival.
