The movie was inspired by a real life incident a jewish guy had when he got a flat tire in Appalachia and a truck load of good old boys showed up and helped him change his tire so he could continue on his way. The jewish man repayed their kindness by writing a movie portraying all appalachians as inbred rednecks raping and killing people.
