Labour are paying second and third wives up to ยฃ6513 a year.
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) have confirmed that the money given to second and third wives will be rising.
The DWP has confirmed in its benefits uprating list for 2025-26 that โadditional spousesโ in โpolygamous marriagesโ are being given a 4.8% boost to their benefits from April next year.
But isn't this illegal?
A House of Commons report titled Polygamy published in 2023 explains how this works. โFor a polygamous marriage to be considered valid in the UK, the parties must be domiciled in a country where polygamous marriage is permitted and must have entered into the marriage in a country which permits polygamy.โ

Taste test and testing before bottling. Green label 13.2 abv% second more brown one 17 abv%. Both have been racked twice and back-sweetened with honey/brown sugar and cleared of all fermentation. Brain cells slowing, bottles cleansed. Yeah, buddy, it's winter time.
