Okay. As the undisputed scrap mover in the group, im going to give you a primer. So the easy stuff that you can get a lot of easy volume for with low risk is can picking. Tin and aluminum are mid tier value and extremely light weight so you need a lot to really get a good value. However, this is not difficult because every restaurant dumpster has cans and YOU use cans, so just save and smash your trash down and store it in buckets or those big ass Rubbermaid totes. Can picking is entry level scrapping. There's also aluminum in various large trash that people put at curbs. Appliances and what not. Steel is probably the least value for the weight and not efficient but it can be broken down. People throw out barbecues and trampolines and fire pits all the time, along with water heaters. You can get your hands on big steel and aluminum from plumbing franchise dumpsters like your local roto or mr. rooter. The second most valuable metal to copper is brass. A lot of people throw out faucets and valves and brass is great for the price to weight ratio. It is imo extremely worth it to make a brass bucket. Last run I made $240 extra in just brass alone. Copper is always king. Copper can be found in Appliances and electric motors and construction dumpster trash. You can also scrap pallets. Pallets are basically everywhere. This is the low risk legal way of obtaining scrap.

This year, I made $1,600-something in a day going out and dropping off metal, using that money to fund a side job, and managed to flip liquid cash for more money and made essentially, a weeks pay.
