Had a nightmare. I was running in a mountain forest filled with muscadines. Forest green August heat, ripe grapes. Felt like an episode of the twilight zone, for I had no tools to make jam or wine from them. That's the real scare.

These mountains provide. Fire, warmth, food, kin, and community. These mountains, and our people, will be here long after this country falls apart and the world falls. Appalachia is 25 million strong amongst gods bright stars and blue skies. God bless this strip of land and devil be with its enemies.
