Any space that is not explicitly anti-jeet will become a jeet space.

From Scratch: Rejecting Poison Foodstuffs
Myths About Cooking from Scratch:
-difficult
-takes special talent
-time consuming
Truths About Cooking from Scratch include:
-cooking from scratch is just about the only way to avoid poisoning yourself with prepared foods from the grocery store
Bread:
Comparison:
—commercial bread: soybean and/or canola oil, plus preservatives (The longer the shelf life, the shorter your own life.)
—homemade bread: flour, olive oil, yeast
Ease:
— putting a few ingredients in a machine
Cost:
— 10 lbs of good quality flour for $8 will make 9 loaves of bread. NINE loaves.
(A note on bread machines — fb marketplace and thrift stores are replete with nearly new bread machines. I have one that I paid $10 for. (You can buy the one I have on Amazon new for $99.)
What are foods that you make from scratch which shock you how much better, easier, or less expensive they are to make than to buy?

When management says "Hey we are short staffed, just come in for a couple hours today to help out, and you're done."
And it turns into a full shift.

I seen some fucked up things today… not just flood damaged areas, this is the 2nd time I have made it back on the mountain since Helene. The first time weeks back I was running around so much trying to see as much family/friends in a day that I didn’t get to observe all that much, only glimpses. Today I got to observe things. It isn’t just the damage, but the abject despair. I haven’t seen so many homeless, meth/fentanyl addled people wondering around. I didn’t recognize but two out of the 25/30 I saw, and this is an unincorporated community in far Northeast corner of Tennessee. Then I spoke to some people… a lot of these types aren’t from here, but from Asheville, NC. Why the fuck have they been compelled to come (or sent?) here?
It isn’t just this refuse neither… people are nearly broken it seems. Worn down and frayed. It’s as if a shadow is over this place, and Helene just darkened it intensely.

Now I see why we fought so hard for this land. I can see why Canucks don't like the chugs that much.
