"I have a lot of questions about this too.
Many years ago I read a book called The China Study, which was a very controversial book talking about a study done in China that seemed to show a dairy-free diet was far healthier for people. It also excluded peanut butter. When they would eat dairy or peanut butter, rates of cancer sky rocketed. The other interesting thing was when they didn't eat this, the women and girls in the study would have their first periods much later in life, like as late as 19 years old or even older, and the time between their periods was much longer, some going years between cycles. I'm sure there was more to it than I can remember off of the top of my head, but nonetheless, this has always made me wonder how is a menstrual cycle "supposed" to be? If shedding the uterine layer is a way to detox and cleanse the body, then is it only necessary in a toxic world and lifestyle?
To take it further, perhaps these toxins exist both emotionally as well as physically, or in all realms/dimensions. Therefore, when women say they still bleed heavy on a vegan diet, perhaps it is something in the emotional realm still being released, and perhaps this is necessary and healthy. Perhaps this is why women are such deep feelers and more nurturing, as a mother should be. And perhaps this is why there is no right or wrong to this topic. The cycle seems necessary to prepare one for child birth, but perhaps also there is a balance. There's always a balance... Toxicity/releasing clearly seems to play a role in the menstrual cycle. And... to say "perhaps" one more time... perhaps you aren't JUST releasing your own toxins. Maybe when a woman is in tune with the collective, she releases collective toxins as well?
I do feel like this is a multilayered process and if we only look at it physically, we will miss something. If we only look at it emotionally, we will miss something.
And as far as the moon goes, it is clearly connected as well. The moon is connected to the tides, the rise and fall of the waters. Maybe when the waters rise, the menstrual cycle wants to release more because it is being pulled more, but again, I don't think it's the only factor. If there is not much to release, for whatever reason, then no bleeding may occur.
As a man, I feel like my seed always wants to be released more around a full moon. Perhaps this is the tide rising in me as well? The moon definitely affects men too, whether we are conscious of it or not.
I don't have all of the answers, just questions, really, and I wonder if other people have ever considered these angles.
I know this is a sensitive topic for many women, and as with every sensitive topic we should see the truth of both sides and try to balance any polarities. The answers always seem to be in the middle. That's where we're going to come to the greatest understanding. I'm truly fascinated by this topic and want to understand it better, because... it's all connected."
