"Ok, so a fun story.

A friend of mine was helpin me fell a tree that died on this property in a real tight spot. Big enough to possibly hit 3 different houses where it was standing, and it was a double trunk so basically 2 twin trees joined at one really wide trunk, then split about 5 feet up and 2 twins shooting up from there. So, it's not soemthing you want to mess up, and it's a bit complicated.

Well, it's a nerve wracking thing to climb a tall thin tree to thin it up and top it. Those guys that do it for a living are highly self confident. Today though, I saw something I couldn't beleive if it weren't happening in the backyard.

My friend's father came to help him.

65.

135 lean

Wearing basically crocs...

65. Remember that.

He climbed that tree like a damn spider monkey. No harness. No spikes. In crocs, from the ground. These trees were dead so some of the smaller branches just snapped off as he reached for them. This man is climbing this tree like he's still 14 years old.

He topped both those trees, and fell them safely without any damage. And I didn't think to record any of it. At all.

This is why I have no friends. 🤣

But damn man.

Age is just a number. Do what you most imagine yourself doing and be fearless about it."

"In the 27 years of my woodworking business, I have never thrown away a knot. Many people see knots as a defect, but to me knots are the visual representation of a trees struggle to thrive. Not all little limbs become big branches, but their combined efforts on behalf of the tree as a whole should be celebrated. Just like human scars they tell a story of sacrifice and healing. Each of these "scars" has a unique personality and deserve the chance to be appreciated as art."
