Jupiter, Pollux, Castor, and thousands of twinkling stars. ✨
❤1⚡1
We had the sky, up there, all speckled with stars, and we used to lay on our
backs and look up at them, and discuss about whether they was made, or
only just happened.

Come with me in the zen garden.
❤4💔1
What is life
Life is Zen for me
A stillness within our true self
That carries peace
When I sit in my zen garden
Under the roofs of the trees
I feel calm
When the wind whispers
Through the leaves
I feel weightless
When the birds sing
And butterflies fly in summer
I feel free
When I look into the night
Or write music of the stars
I am Zen.

On my path beneath the stars, I keep coming face to face with myself. And time and again, I find myself returning to the same traditions of mindfulness and stillness that guide me to be my true self. The following words are drawn from Japanese aesthetics and maybe they can gently guide you on your own path too.

KOOUN – 行雲 – The path of the drifting clouds
The passing cloud—
grasping nothing as it drifts,
fading into sky.
The cloud does not choose its path. It moves with the wind, changes with the air, and lets go without effort. In Zen, this is the ideal — acting without attachment, moving without a destination. The mind that drifts like a cloud bears no burden, harbours no resentment, and resists nothing.
MUJO – 無常 – The flow of all things
Petals fall and drift,
not one thing remains the same—
this, too, shall pass on.
The warrior knows that all things are borrowed. His strength, his blade, the breath in his chest — all return to the river. He does not cling. He strikes when the time is right. He rests when the time is right. He lets go when the time is right.
SATORI – 悟り – The moment of awakening
Enlightenment comes
the moment you stop searching —
it has always been here.
Satori cannot be pursued. It comes like dawn — not because you have called for it, but because the darkness has finally run its course. The Zen masters spent a lifetime preparing for a single moment of clear seeing. Even the samurai on the battlefield experienced it: the moment when self and action merged as one. Not understanding, but knowing. Not thinking, but presence. That is satori.
In the endless void,
no form, no name, no boundary —
only endless space.
Koku is the space that cannot be filled, the silence that carries all sounds, the void that makes all form possible. In Zen, it is not absence, but potential — the open sky within every mind. The samurai who understood Koku fought without fighting, moved without force. To touch the void is to become it.
Resolve is not anger —
it is the calm before the storm,
the breath that has already been taken.
Kakugo is the samurai’s inner declaration — made in silence, long before the sword is drawn. It is not bravado, but clarity. The warrior who has found his resolve needs no further questions. There is no hesitation, no regret, no fear. The decision has already been made. What remains is simply to move forward with full presence of mind.
The blade is being sharpened —
only the sound remains,
and the breath becomes clear
A samurai does not seek improvement for its own sake. He returns to repetition until it becomes silent mastery. Kensan is refinement, shaped by the passage of time.
SEIKAN – 静観 – The art of observation
Just watch—
Clouds begin to drift
and turn into wind.
Seikan is the art of observation. Do not cling. Do not resist. A samurai watches without intervening, and trusts in the truth that unfolds in silence.
CHINCHAKU – 沈着 – Serenity in silence
Still waters—
in their silent depths
the spirit appears.
Chinchaku is a calm that needs no explanation. It is presence without tension, strength without fanfare. A samurai remains composed, even as the world around him changes.
A new light—
spreading gently
across the morning sky.
Shinsei is gentle. No explosion, but a quiet return to one’s true self. A samurai accepts renewal without pride — and begins anew.
KAIGAN – 開眼 – Opening up access
In the silence,
a single ray of light—
the eyes open.
Kaigan is not a discovery. It is a recollection. A samurai does not seek the truth in the noise — he discovers it in the silence.
YOZAKURA – 夜桜 – Cherry blossoms by night
Upon the night-blooming flowers
the moon gently casts
its silent shadow.
Beneath the cherry blossoms of the night, a samurai reflects without regret. Beauty fades, yet nothing is lost. Yozakura is the stillness that remains after understanding.

KOMOREBI – 木漏れ日 – Light through the leaves
Through filtered light,
the heart gently melts—
like a gentle breeze.
Not all strength is forged in darkness. Sometimes it is found in warmth, in quiet moments between exertions. Komorebi is peace that needs no defence.
To wait in silence—
buds begin to swell
on spring branches.
A samurai does not meet hardship with anger. He absorbs it within himself. Nintai is the strength to remain unmoved, even when time itself seems heavy.
SETSUNA – 刹那 – The fleeting moment
For just a moment—
a falling leaf pauses,
and breath stands still.
A samurai lives neither in the past nor in the future. He stands in the one moment that contains everything. This is Setsuna, the fleeting moment, held in complete awareness.
FUDOSHIN – 不動心 – An unshakable mind
Waves rage —
the rock does not move,
the moon continues to shine
A samurai does not struggle against every storm. He himself becomes the place that cannot be shaken. This is Fudoshin, a spirit that stands unmoved.
SEIJYO – 静城 – Silence that stands guard
Gates closed tight—
the castle listens
only to wind.
A samurai guards without noise. Silence is the strongest wall. This is Seijyo, protection without display.
Carried away,
even thought returns
to the stream.
A samurai releases lingering thought. What moves on does not look back. This is Ryunen, release through motion.
SETSUSHIN – 雪心 – A heart that melts like snow
Snow drifts down—
no blade is raised,
winter deepens in silence.
A samurai accepts stillness because it melts. Nothing is lost by vanishing.
This is Setsushin, gentleness within cold.
RYUSHIN – 流心 – A heart that flows
The blade is set aside—
entrusting all to water,
the heart begins to flow.
A samurai does not force direction. He moves as the current allows, without resistance. This is Ryushin, a heart that flows without grasping.
ISSHIN – 一心 – From the single heart
One heart, steady gaze,
finds the sky unclouded
by what does not matter.
To act with half the mind is not to act at all. A samurai pours everything—breath, gaze, will—into a single direction. This is Isshin, commitment without fracture.
ENSHIN – 炎心 – Heart of flame
In the heart’s red beat,
no name is needed—only
the fire that lives on.
A samurai’s blade is not what burns—it is the heart behind it. Names perish, weapons rust, but will ignites forever. This is Enshin, the fire at the core of existence.
ZEN – 禅 – The quiet mind
In perfect silence,
every voice ever spoken
finds its resting place.
A samurai kneels beneath an abandoned shrine, breath slowing, pulse quieting, until the boundary between self and space dissolves. This is Zen, the moment where clarity appears not by seeking, but by surrendering.
NAGI – 凪 – Breathless wind
In the quiet calm,
an unwavering inner voice
becomes my core.
A samurai stands before a motionless sea where even ripples refuse to stir. No wind guides him, no sound intrudes—only a stillness so complete that thought itself ceases. This is Nagi, the quiet between breaths where awareness deepens and the world holds its tongue.
YUGEN – 幽玄 – Depths of subtle mystery
Star shadows fall
on the unspeakable edges
of a boundless night.
A samurai looks up into a sky too vast for words. Stars shimmer like distant memories beyond understanding. This is Yūgen, the beauty that lies just beyond what we can grasp.
TENKO – 天光 – The light of heaven
In early light,
a single steadfast purpose
shines back at me.
At dawn’s edge, a samurai lifts his eyes toward the first beam of morning. A single purpose gleams with renewed clarity. This is Tenko, the heavenly light that reveals our path.

YUZEN – 悠然 – The flow of serenity
Wind drifts by,
yet even the unmoving branch
holds its quiet time.
A samurai pauses beneath tall pines as a gentle breeze passes through. Nothing rushes — nothing resists. This is Yuzen, the serene acceptance that allows time to unfold naturally.
REIHO – 霊峰 – The sacred mountain
To the white clouds
I entrust my breath—
and the path unfolds.
High upon the sacred mountain, a samurai exhales into the cold morning air. Clouds drift below his feet, and the world feels newly born. This is Reihō — the summit where spirit and sky become one.
MUSHIN – 無心 – The state of no-mind
Pale moon above—
even the shape of my heart
fades into stillness.
A samurai walks beneath a pale moon, feeling his thoughts dissolve into the night. No hesitation, no attachment — only the quiet flow of existence. This is Mushin, the state of a mind untouched by fear or desire.
SEIJAKU – 静寂 – The stillness of silence
The mountain air clears—
a single line of shadow
breathes without a voice.
A lone samurai sits upon a quiet ridge as the world grows still. The wind rests, the trees fall silent, and even the shadows seem to hold their breath. This is Seijaku — the deep, sacred quiet that reveals what lies within.
On the mountain path,
pain and breath alike
simply pass through.
A samurai does not seek comfort first and foremost. He learns to endure hardship without breaking. This is Shugyo, a form of training that refines the will.
SUIEN – 翠園 – The emerald tea garden
Stepping stones in moss,
one slow step at a time now—
the world falls away.
The tea garden is not merely decorative. It is a threshold. Every stone that is laid, every lantern that is lit, every drop of water in the basin is a preparation of the mind. By the time the guest reaches the door of the tea room, they have left the outside world behind.
