I wonder if he would have had the same reaction to me geeking-out over his portrayal of Charles I in "Cromwell".

edit found the whole thing, but reminds me of this. For context,

"A refurbished Star Wars is on somewhere or everywhere. I have no intention of revisiting any galaxy. I shrivel inside each time it is mentioned. Twenty years ago, when the film was first shown, it had a freshness, also a sense of moral good and fun. Then I began to be uneasy at the influence it might be having. The bad penny first dropped in San Francisco when a sweet-faced boy of twelve told me proudly he had seen Star Wars over a hundred times.
New Challenge. How long can you listen to this trash.
The purpose of the right-wing is to cultivate a people strong enough to survive the future, yet moral enough to deserve the label "human". Outside of heaven, is there a more desirable goal?
Hard disagree. I still think we need the devil to explain this.

The very idea of sneaking into a family's house in the night, abducting a child from its sleep and carrying it off to be murdered would have once been the stuff of dark nightmares, public burnings and accusations of devilry.

Now it's just a matter of demographics.

In the process of writing the next substack entry. This will either be one of my best or my worst. I will be interested in getting feedback.
Times they are a -changin... at least of the normie right
For my upcoming move, I will be doing a “pack my bookcase” video reminiscent of Woes “my entire dvd” collection. Thoughts on the format? Livestream, pre-recorded vid? My best thought at this time is a prerecorded video set to premiere, with an after stream for questions.
People please make sure you are properly hedging your crypto portfolio. Pretty please with sugar on top, diversify your f*cking investments.
For my in-progress essay about cultural creation, what do you call an "art consumer", Looking for a term that doesn't sound completely degenerate?

One of the things I've noticed is that ''common sense'' or intuition has been removed from the equation. Now everything is politicized so whatever opinion you have can be lumped in with one or another trend or tribe online.

Algorithms and narratives sort the individual like in a factory process, dissolving the individual in the process and removing agency from him.
I really like the MW ruminations, but I always find myself disagreeing with his perspective. At this stage I feel very strongly that we have things in front of us quite plainly. We know what is diseased and untrustworthy (social meda, our ruling class, and the way they want us to live). We know what is healthy and strong (faith, family, deep-art, old wisdom, nature, and physical health). The only thing that remains is to pursue the later, while taking on board as little of the former as you are compelled to by force, or force of habit. By all means make content, take action, and be sanguine, but we need to get busy living and thriving, I don't see any other direction without this as a first step.
More and more we see that conservatism, national populism, and NRX are reaching synthesis. The people needed to hear the message finally heard it. The rest will probably never listen. This is a challenge for the dissidents going forward. We need to break our patterns. Let’s not be the Libertarians of old and keep on bleating out the same talking points without asking “who is the audience for this?”. https://youtu.be/8eo6mqn4V7M
