A collective exploration of stories of ingenuity that people with little or no power devise when systems fail them. The evening at panke.gallery is focused on the inginuity of workers in the global gig factory. Particularly on tactics the workers on platforms such as Microwork, Amazon Turk or Upwork based in the Eastern Europe and the Global South contrive to fake their location or presence to cirumvent scant pay, surveillance and control that is frequently not expected from the gig workers in the Western Europe and the Global North.

International premiere of MUTUALISMX: Becoming Sonic Networks, where hexorcismos is joined by collaborators Kloxii Li and Ale Hop, presenting their "sonic becoming" in the form of a planetary-spanning collaborative generative AI music and visual album.

The artist MengXuan Sun explores the potency of「apple」power in the performance IncrEn: weak apple eschatology.

The evening will end with a DJ set by Vani-T, an experimental video artist, dj and musician and co-founder of the former queer party Climax.

Moreover, due to the proprietary nature of much corporate tech, even the most curious among us cannot gain deeper insight. Today, we are forced to come to terms with our relative lack of power in the face of inscrutable systems.

This extensive group exhibition at KW builds upon the recent book by Nadim Samman titled Poetics of Encryption: Art and the Technocene.

Spanning analogue and digital media, Poetics of Encryption features both historic and newly commissioned works by more than 40 international artists.

In 1993, a group of artists moved into the former piano factory on the strip of wall between Alt-Treptow and Neukölln. The Atelierhaus Mengerzeile established itself as an artists' association and created a living new art site with thirty studios. In the course of the gentrification of Berlin, this space also threatened to disappear. In 2018 the existence of the studio house was secured in the long term. Currently, 36 artists work in the Atelierhaus. A mélange of international creatives, with diverse positions, philosophies and perspectives that stands for the resistive moments that art can show in order to oppose repression.

The video and multimedia exhibition constitutes the centerpiece of the project 가닥 GADAG. Each film centers different marginalized stories related to war memories, feeding into different political debates across countries and generations. While all these stories are given their own respectful space to be told and heard, they are brought together in one room, connecting them physically and symbolically.

The video works are accompanied by installations that include objects, drawings, prints, texts and more, allowing the visitors to fully immerse themselves in the works, blurring the lines between the screen and the viewer.
