From Sunday, LiMA Medienakademie invites you to a new series of events addressing repression in journalism, WikiLeaks, and whistleblowing. The series starts with a movie night discussing the legal proceedings of Julian Assange, analysing why this case is significant for press freedom, and the current status of his legal proceedings. These discussions are free of charge and will be streamed on YouTube.

The event will feature guests Veronika Nad (from Disruption Network Lab), ethnologist and activist for free expression, press, and internet freedom, and Daniel Lรผcking, scientific associate and part-time editor with a background in whistleblowers from security authorities.

We are seeking two volunteers to assist with the logistics of our upcoming conference titled "ORGANISED CRIME: A Global Business." The conference will take place at Kunstquartier Bethanien (Studio 1) on 24 and 25 November 2023.
The engagement time frames are as follows:

Friday, 24 November, between 3:00 pm and 9:30 pm,

and Saturday, 25 November, between 2:00 pm and 8:45 pm.

In the second session: "Narconomics: Transnational Drug Trafficking & Corruption" taking place on Friday, 24 November we will have with us the experts Stevan Dojฤinoviฤ‡ (OCCRP, SRB), Floriana Bulfon (IT), and Shehryar Fazli (OSF, UK) addressing the intricate web of transnational drug trafficking and corruption. Moderated by Denisse Rodriguez Olivari (EUI, PE/IT), this panel explores the evolving landscape of organized crime and its impact on global security.
