Tony Gilroy was asked why Kino Loy didn't appear in #Andor S2
"What am I going to do that’s going to be better than what we did? All it does is minimize that moment [where it's revealed he can’t swim]"
"[Kino Loy] is like [Cassian’s] sister. People wanted to know if we’re going to resolve the sister ... She’s much more valuable to me for Cassian as an absence ... His need to return and save people and to be a savior ... and the compulsion to do that comes from this hole in his life, and I didn’t really want to fill that in"

#Andor showrunner Tony Gilroy praises Lucasfilm boss Kathleen Kennedy
"She has protected the show and protected me ... When we started challenging Kathy, Kathy just kept saying yes. 'Oh, I’m going to put the first scene in a brothel.' 'Okay.' 'I’m going to have them kill two cops.' 'Okay.' 'We want the production designer from Chernobyl.' 'Okay, good idea.'"
"She backed our play and got everything that we were doing. We’ve been through everything, she and I, on this— all the good and all the bad. There’s no show without her."
"For all the shit that she takes online, it’s just insane. This show exists because she forced it to happen. What a tough job she has, man."

@Chrillxz: Agreed on that. Sequels overall were disappointing
It's the flip side of the coin — she gave too much creative freedom with the directors retconning each other's narrative choices
There was also a ton of pressure from Bob Iger to pump the first film out, he admitted it himself
