The US Internal Revenue Service invested $250 thousand in a tool to track cryptocurrencies
The Criminal Investigation Division of the US Internal Revenue Service signed a $249,900,900 contract with the little-known analytical company Blockchain Analytics and Tax Software, Cointelegraph writes.
The cooperation will allow the agency to expand its tools for tracking cryptocurrency transactions.
Previously Blockchain Analytics and Tax Software cooperated with the U.S. Treasury Department, providing it with expert witness services for $9800.
Recall that in July the U.S. Revenue Service launched an investigative pilot programme to find tools for tracking various types of cryptocurrency transactions. The new contract, however, is not the answer to this request.
The agency has also expressed interest in purchasing software for block analysis developed by Coinbase specialists.
