Gharial (Gavial)

Habitat - Rivers with high sand banks, used for basking and building nests. 

Found in - Girwa River, Chambal River, Ken River, Son River, Mahanadi River, Ramganga River.

Threats: 

- Hunting for skins, trophies and indigenous medicine, and their eggs collected for consumption, 
- Decrease of riverine habitat as dams, barrages, irrigation canals and artificial embankments.
- siltation and sand-mining 

IUCN Red List - Critically Endangered

News - Gharials are released in Ghaghara river amid lockdown.

By World Health Assembly in 2012
1. To reduce anaemic conditions among women by 50%

Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme (ECLGS)

- Aims at mitigating the economic distress faced by MSMEs by providing them additional funding in the form of a fully guaranteed emergency credit line.

- 100% credit guarantee coverage is provided by National Credit Guarantee Trustee Company Limited (NCGTC) for additional funding of up to Rs. 3 lakh crore to eligible MSMEs and interested MUDRA borrowers.

- The credit will be provided in the form of a Guaranteed Emergency Credit Line (GECL) facility.

- provides an incentive to Member Lending Institutions (MLIs), i.e., Banks, Financial Institutions (FIs) and NBFCs to increase the availability of funding facilities to MSMEs

- The scheme aims to mitigate the distress caused by COVID-19 and the consequent lockdown on MSMEs.
