Is HyperCORE better than equivalent perps platforms elsewhere? Unequivocally.
Is HyperEVM (the general purpose side of the HL product) in the same ballpark as other performant chains [e.g. Solana]? No, and it's not close.
Like, not even the same universe (pic attached).
HyperEVM, today, has less theoretical capacity than Ethereum mainnet. ~7 TPS max right now.
It's incredibly low throughput.
Now, caveats/nuance:
→ HyperEVM is meant to serve as a general purpose tooling component to compliment HyperCORE
→ This means it doesn't need to be massively scalable to be useful. You can plug in to CORE features and liquidity (and visa versa) to enable unique things.
→ HyperEVM will scale. The question now is "How much and how long will that take?"
The problem is ~everyone else will also be scaling same-time. So for every 100x EVM does (700 TPS boiiii) Solana/Base/MegaETH can do a 10x and hit multiples of that.
Anyways, none of this matters and maxis will fight anyways because it's a perceived opportunity to dunk.
