Contrary to what you might have guessed, the US is the last major developed economy to tackle new regulations and legislation for crypto. The EU passed its Markets in Crypto Act (MiCA) several years ago. 4

it is 2025 and onchain capital formation is still a circus
infinitely worse than offchain (venture, ipos, etc)
sniping, sandwiching, shit liquidity, and chaos scare off any serious teams
there is now a robust solution — which will be disclosed soon
for now, I am looking for long-term, high-quality teams that are interested in launching
only two spots open
DM me or ideally get a warm-intro from a friend

I saw a very cool POC in which @zksync block times are reduced from ~1 second to 200ms. Requires a protocol change as currently there is an invariant in which block.timestamp is unique per block, and that'd no longer be the case (block timestamps are enumerated in seconds).
This is being discussed now but assuming the community is happy with this change I expect this to be proposed as part of the v29 protocol upgrade.
Feel free to share feedback but 200ms block times would allow for a much snappier UX on tx submission.

Solana doesn't care about decentralization
but also, Solana doesn't care about performance
that is: Solana does not care about performance or decentralization on their own
we care about maximizing both, simultaneously
this is obvious — otherwise, we could just have a single sequencer and call it a day
we could also just have a cap at ~80-100 nodes like most high-perf alt L1s that came before and after
either of these approaches would make the network significantly more performant; but they don't do much for decentralization
this is also obvious in the design and roadmap of the chain, where adding more nodes does not hurt the performance after a threshold (a property that roughly no chain has)
the insight is that if you make a chain so performant that the node operators have a higher incentive to run nodes — you get more nodes and better security
and if adding more nodes doesn't hurt the performance of the chain, then you are now maxing both performance and decentralization
