RT @TheCryptoLark: Over $1 billion in $ETH ETF inflows since May 16th.

Yesterday, $ETH ETFs saw $125 million in inflows.

Since May 16, the ETFs have seen a total of $1.01 billion in inflows

17 straight days of inflows.

Extremely bullish! https://t.co/zmzZmMJiKJ

RT @mdudas: now that banks and fintechs are spreading our stablecoins and self custody wallets, we're gonna see 100x the number of people using defi, depin, gaming, money games and the global decentralized casino https://t.co/fhqMvcku4A

RT @defi_monk: The writing is on the wall.

Solana should embrace their rollups and build out a proper DA solution. A performant CLOB cant exist on Solana mainnet for years at best, never at worst.

@bulletxyz_ has a 3ms latency CLOB rearing to hit mainnet.

believe ppl are underindexing on CLOB wars & overindexing on L1 wars

in theory rollups should be the ideal infra for building specialized applications w/ less overhead but a lot of the first gen rollups focused heavily on barebones EVM so design space was limited by throughput

Ok since youre an expert on Solana engineering, go ahead and

i) define why this is never possible, ii) define "performant", iii) define how you arrived at the timeline

RT @defi_monk: I) Oh it’s not impossible. You can do it if you redesign your entire consensus, I only said never because I’m not sure if that will ever work out from a social perspective but it can certainly be done.

Ii) Performant - potential to get down to consistent sub 50ms e2e latency, and a cost environment where makers can quote sub 1 cent. You can solve for cancel prioritization but it won’t fix the inability to colocate and the burdens of global consensus.

iii) l made up the timeline based off vibes. Go ahead and prove me wrong.

I mean it’s not just me saying this. It’s people who tried building on your blockchain. There’s a reason multiple teams have entirely given up on building an onchain CLOB on the Solana L1 and have either left or restructured into a different product entirely. Maybe you should try asking them as well.

RT @0xBreadguy: Geographically distributed consensus will always have some degree of overhead that impacts latency. That's just physics.

You can get tighten some of the burden with stuff like MCP or lowering Byzantine thresholds but until a PR for quantum entaglement is made we know what we're dealing with.

RT @aeyakovenko: @0xBreadguy @defi_monk @0xMert_ @bulletxyz_ Consensus is asynchronous to tx inclusion. Traders only care about consensus if there are rollbacks or censorship. If neither exist then consensus can be quite slow. Inclusion latency is what matters.

RT @0xBreadguy: @aeyakovenko @defi_monk @0xMert_ @bulletxyz_ Sure, but what's the timeline on designing an inclusion mechanism that is ~instant with 0 rollbacks or censorship worries when leader are permissionless and selection is ~random?
tweet
Ansem 🐂🀄️
RT @aeyakovenko: We already have zero rollbacks. Adverse leaders that front run are a problem that’s a pia with leverage. But it’s less than 10% of slots.

The actual low hanging fruit right now is shitty tx ingress and scheduling. Still.

Half-ASS should be one sprint.
1) fix scheduler bugs
2) cancel txs should have much lower CUs so cheaper to be at the top of the block.
3) protocol can then mark adverse validators that front run cancels ahead of time and prevent take txs from landing during those slots.

RT @0xBreadguy: 10% of slots is still ~6 random minutes every hour where you get shit execution on thin margins.

That means the MM would either have to curate a list of trusted leaders and be blacked-out from the market 10% of the time or not do that and get got 1 of every 1 trades.

I do think these numbers will come down though; it's just a matter of "how long and can it get low-enough when there are alternatives that offer ~0 of these headaches but still be 'onchain?'"
