• HAL has commissioned a Hot Isostatic Press (HIP) facility at its Nasik Division to manufacture carbon-carbon brake discs for the Tejas Mk1A fighter jet.

• HIP technology uses extreme heat and pressure to strengthen aerospace materials and eliminate internal defects in critical components.

• The facility will reduce reliance on foreign processing and help scale production of the 83 Tejas Mk1A fighters ordered by the IAF.
