The Government announced that the next Census of India will be held in two phases, Union MoS Home Nityanand Rai informed Rajya Sabha.
Phase 1 – Houselisting
• Housing conditions, amenities and household assets
• Head of household recorded as Male, Female or Transgender
Phase 2 – Population Enumeration
• Detailed data of every individual
This will be India’s first national census since 2011.

It's viewed as a move aimed at rebuilding tariff pressure after the US Supreme Court struck down the centrepiece of Trump’s tariff programme last month.

The list of countries included in this probe:
