Forex reserves rise by USD 4.5 billion to hit USD 702.28 billion: RBI
India’s foreign exchange reserves rose by USD 4.496 billion to USD 702.28 billion for the week ending 17 October, mainly driven by an increase in the value of gold reserves.
For the week ending 17 October, foreign currency assets (FCA), the largest part of the reserves, fell by USD 1.692 billion to USD 570.411 billion.

The US is seeking to expand its strategic relationship with Pakistan, but those ties don’t come at the expense of Washington’s relations with India, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said.
“It’s part of a mature, pragmatic foreign policy,” he said. “I don’t think anything we’re doing with Pakistan comes at the expense of our relationship or friendship with India, which is deep, historic, and important.”

US Navy helicopter, jet crashes into the South China Sea during ‘routine operation’
On October 26, 2025, at approximately 2:45 PM local time, a U.S. Navy MH-60R Sea Hawk helicopter, assigned to the “Battle Cats” of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron (HSM) 73, went down in the waters of the South China Sea while conducting routine operations from the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68). Search and rescue assets assigned to Carrier Strike Group 11 safely recovered all three crew members,”
Moments after the helicopter crash, a US Navy jet crashed into the South China sea 30 minutes later.
