Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena has approved urbanisation of the last 48 villages.
Out of 357 villages, 309 are already urban. These 48 — though surrounded by city development — are still governed under the Delhi Land Reforms Act.
Next: The Municipal Corporation of Delhi will notify them under the Delhi Municipal Corporation Act, bringing:
✔ Full urban planning laws
✔ Enforced building bye-laws
✔ Clear land-use norms
✔ Structured infrastructure rollout
