The European Union (EU) and India organized a first-of-its-kind counterterrorism training from 13 to 15 October 2025 to protect critical infrastructure and soft targets against emerging threats from unmanned aerial systems (UAS) or drones, as they are commonly known.

Indian Army (Corps of Army Air Defence) has signed a contract with M/s Thales, UK, for the procurement of Light Weight Modular Missile (LMM) System on 15 Oct 25.
LMM is a lightweight and man-portable missile system that can be deployed in operational areas, including High-Altitude Areas. The missile operates on the Laser Beam Riding principle and is resistant to evasive actions taken by modern-day aerial platforms.
The missile is highly effective against all types of aircraft, helicopters, UAVs, and UCAVs, including aerial targets with low IR signature up to a range greater than 6 Kms in all-weather conditions.

Union Minister for IT and Electronics, Ashwini Vaishnaw, pitched on Tuesday for developing the Andaman and Nicobar Islands as the next major hub for global internet data transfer, citing the region’s strategic geographic location.
"Why can't we make Andaman the next big hub for global Internet data transfer? Andaman can actually help Google and every other Internet-based organization to reach Southeast Asia, Australia, and a large part of the world, which is today looking at totally new capacity".
