The Unnao rape case involves the 2017 rape of a minor girl in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, by then‑BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar

Sengar was convicted and given life imprisonment in 2019, and later sentenced in a related custodial death case, though in December 2025 the Delhi High Court suspended his life sentence in the rape case while his appeal is heard, subject to conditions.
