โ๏ธ Some wild (and kinda fake ๐) facts about Checkers
โข Checkers is older than most people think. Versions of it were played in ancient Egypt around 3000 BCโฆ yeah, while pyramids were still under construction type shi.
โข Back then, it wasnโt even called checkers. Some say it was known as Alquerque others swear it was a โwar planning board gameโ (no proof but it sounds cold).
โข The board represents a battlefield ๐ง
Light squares = safe land
Dark squares = danger zones
Thatโs why real moves only happen on dark squaresโฆ allegedly.
โข Thereโs a myth that kings in checkers were inspired by real warriors who survived enough battles to earn freedom to move anywhere. Sounds fake, but it fits too well to ignore.
โข People say checkers is โsimpleโ but in the 1700s, it was used to train patience and foresight for young nobles in Europe. Chess was for ego, checkers was for discipline.
โข Old folklore says if you win a game by sacrificing your last piece to get a king, it means luck will stick to you for the next 7 days. No science, just vibes.
โข Some believe checkers players develop a โpattern eyeโ ๐ where your brain starts predicting movement before it happens. Basically low budget future vision ๐๐ญ
โข Fun lie but not lie: thereโs a rumor that checkers was banned in some places because it caused too many arguments and broken friendships๐๐. Very believable.
โข And finallyโฆ
A real checkers player doesnโt rush.
They let you think youโre winning.
Then they take everything in 3 moves.
Stay sharp. Dark squares only โ๏ธ๐ฅ

Why $9.99 Feels Cheaper Than $10 ๐ง ๐ธ
Your brain reads the first number first. So $9.99 feels like nine dollars, not basically ten. Thatโs called the left digit effect ...and it seriously affects buying decisions.
Eye tracking studies even show people barely notice the .99 part. Your brain just rounds down emotionally.
Prices ending in .99 also feel like a deal, while $10.00 feels official and expensive. That tiny 1ยข difference actually reduces the โpain of paying.โ
Crazy part? Even when you KNOW the trickโฆ it still works.
Marketing didnโt lower the price
they lowered how expensive it feels.

Why Luxury Brands Donโt Use $199.99 ๐
Ever notice luxury brands price things at $200 instead of $199.99? Thatโs on purpose ... and itโs psychological.
๐ง Rounded Prices Feel Premium
Research shows rounded numbers are easier for the brain to process, which makes them feel smoother, more confident, and more high-end.
$200 feels intentional. $199.99 feels calculated.
๐ผ .99 Signals โDealโ , Not โLuxuryโ
Prices ending in .99 are linked to discount stores and bargains. Luxury brands avoid that because they donโt want you thinking about saving money , they want you thinking about status and quality.
๐ฐ Pain of Paying Works Differently Here
Cheap brands try to reduce the pain of paying. Luxury brands do the opposite ,they make the price feel serious, because high cost can signal exclusivity and prestige.
โจ Confidence Sells
$200 feels bold. Firm. Unapologetic.
$199.99 feels like itโs trying to convince you.
Luxury marketing isnโt about feeling cheap.
Itโs about making expensive feel worth it.
