Having TTS’ DNS specified in code in a public repository with continuous integration and deployment has been unequivocally positive. If your organization doesn’t do infrastructure as code but is interested in trying it out, DNS is a great place to start. Public DNS records don’t contain any sensitive information, it’s easy to confirm that they are deployed correctly, and you can use basically any continuous integration and DNS providers (that have an API).

AWS re:invent announcement. Among that caught my eye:-

* Bring your own runtime to Lambda - let us specify base AMI image to execute Lambda function.
* AWS Control Tower - allow managing multiple aws accounts in organization.
* AWS Managed Blockchain ... what the ... ?

Some thought on Control Tower:-

It look like using separate AWS account to isolate environment and user access is not something uncommon anymore. I guess this is what happened when you have permission system as complex as aws, people simply gave up and just use a totally separate account rather than risk up misconfiguring the permission and end up giving unwanted access.

As our systems scale, we need more complexity, which inherently increases exponentially over time. The need for understanding and navigating this complexity also increases. Chaos engineering is a discipline that allows us to refine, recalibrate, and navigate the understanding of our systems through intentional and careful experimentation in the form of failure injection. This greater understanding ultimately leads to a better experience for our customers and better outcomes for our businesses.

Sejarah perkembangan container seperti Docker yang popular sekarang. Ianya bermula sejak tahun 70-an lagi dengan pengenalan Unix chroot system call, seterusnya FreeBSD Jail dan Open Solaris Zone sekitar tahun 2000 dan 2004.

Container-based technology has experienced a recent revival, and is becoming adopted at an explosive rate. For those that are new to the conversation, containers offer a way to virtualize an operating system. This virtualization isolates processes, providing limited visibility and resource utilization to each, such that the processes appear to be running on separate machines. In short, allowing more applications to run on a single machine. Here is a brief timeline of key moments in
container history.
