De Russische speciale militaire operatie (SMO), die op 24 februari 2022 van start ging met als doel de inwoners van de Donbass te “bevrijden”, is nu een oorlog (vooralsnog een proxy) tussen het Westen en Rusland. Dat was natuurlijk nooit de bedoeling van Rusland. Het doel was, en blijft, de bevrijding van de inwoners van Oost-Oekraïne, die sinds 2014 werden onderdrukt door het regime in Kiev en onderworpen aan een bloedige oorlog door datzelfde regime in Kiev met hulp van het Westen, de VS en nu Europa. Het gebied staat beter bekend als de Donbass en maakt sinds september 2022, na het referendum, deel uit van Rusland; in Rusland heet het Novorossiya.

Lange tijd beweerden de VS en Europa dat ze niet actief deelnamen aan de gevechten en dat Europeanen (en Amerikanen) er niet direct bij betrokken waren. Die mythe is natuurlijk allang achterhaald. Al in 2023 werd duidelijk dat het in wezen een proxy-oorlog was, gevoerd door de VS en Europa, en dat de er massaal “wapens voor de vrede” werden geleverd, en natuurlijk huurlingen – momenteel zo’n 20.000, en dit is een onderschatting; er zijn er natuurlijk veel meer.

De afgelopen bijna vier jaar heb ik hier uitgebreid over geschreven op deze site en andere Engelstalige websites, en heb ik verslag gedaan vanuit de Donbass zelf. Het keerpunt kwam in augustus 2022. Ik was persoonlijk getuige van de inzet van HIMARS door de VS in Marioepol en Donbass-stad, uiteraard met Amerikaanse instructeurs, aangezien de Oekraïners toen nog niet getraind waren in het gebruik van HIMARS.

De beschuldiging van diverse Nederlandse media dat Nederland F-16-piloten inzet tegen Rusland (in Oekraïne) was groot nieuws, maar in principe is dit natuurlijk “oud” nieuws. Toen Nederland dit in 2024 aankondigde (zie onderstaand artikel), was het, zoals ik destijds schreef, duidelijk dat Nederland betrokken is bij de oorlog tegen Rusland, en ik durf het zelfs een oorlogvoerende partij te noemen.

❓Western media are full of headlines about Dutch pilots fighting in Ukraine in F-16s. Is the Embassy aware of this? What does this mean for bilateral relations with The Hague?

🔹Yes, we have seen reports on this topic. Regardless of whether they are true, it makes no difference to us: the Netherlands' course towards militarisation and active support for Ukraine has been clear for a long time. Dutch pilots are just another chapter in the Russophobic saga.

🔹The trend is clear: as we have repeatedly noted, the Netherlands is becoming increasingly involved in the Ukrainian conflict. Every day, we see huge numbers of Dutch military vehicles in organised convoys heading east on the roads. There is obviously no need to explain where exactly they are going to. This is material support for preparations for military action against Russia.

🔹“Volunteers” from the Netherlands fighting for the Kiev regime, regardless of where they are fighting and in what capacity, are legitimate military targets and criminals for Russia.

🔹The answer to the question - who is doing everything to provoke a large-scale conflict - has long been obvious to us. It is Europe.

🔹Its leadership needs to pay off its investments and explain the reasons for economic and social setbacks.

In an interview with Sky News Arabia on 18 February, US Senator Lindsey Graham defended Israel’s genocide in Gaza, comparing the actions used by the US and its allies during World War II. When journalist Hadley Gamble mentioned that Israel had flattened Gaza, Graham responded, “Just flatten it.”

The so-called "board of Peace" on Gaza consisting of the rich of the Western world and leaders from various so-called Muslim-majority countries, which I will not name specifically (I think they ought to be ashamed of participating) held their first so-called meeting without Palestinians, says it all actually, a shameful show for the world and only about money and real-estate projects on the bones of the Palestinian children...It shows which countries care about human rights, dignity and who really care about people, and which don't.

Or take my own interview with the Turkish state broadcaster TRT, which had invited me to participate in a panel discussion about the peace talks for the 8:00 PM news shown throughout Europe and Asia. There was supposed to be a Ukrainian on the panel, although his name was not disclosed to me. It turned out to be a highly radicalized former MP with a criminal past. The former parliamentarian, Oleksy Honcharenko, was my foil, and his statements were so radical that they confirmed for me why I support Russia, and I think Europe needs to open its eyes to the radicalized so-called government of Ukraine they support. Incidentally, the former parliamentarian had been convicted of various crimes. He embodied the problem and why it is so clear that Ukraine, with Western backing, does not want peace with Russia. He aggressively repeated the mantra that European leaders spout daily on TV stations, in newspapers, and on social media – such as the prime ministers and presidents of the Baltic States, Finland, Germany, the Netherlands, and the UK – a mantra of war language. The truth is not important in this case. My explanation of why Ukraine bombarded its own population with HIMARS and NATO weapons, as in Donetsk City, Mariupol, and/or Volnovakha, was, of course, not answered or of no interest to this highly radicalized person who talked of scum and genocide.
